I noticed early this morning when I came in from work that my dual VEGA 56 GPUs are being worked. Reference blower VEGAs have LED strips above the power plug that fully illuminate when they are being used. The lights on both GPUs are fully lit right now.

They're running Rosetta?! I didn't know they had GPU work yet. I have 3 machines running (the 4th is waiting for me to fix it) with Rosetta on CPU. But none have succeeded in getting GPU work from Rosetta, they're doing Einstein and Milkyway.

As far as I can tell, the only workloads my PC is getting is for the CPU.

I'm assuming BOINC has somehow triggered my GPUs to activate at full power, and it's processing something. I just don't know what it's processing. It's weird, even though there are no GPU workloads. BOINC/Rosetta can see my GPUs. My GPUs are giving off heat.

I have not interrupted it, because I don't want mess with the folding that is actively going.

You should be able to see every task running, including the GPU ones. My Boinc manager looks like this (the Einstein ones are on the GPU):

BOINC doesn't use GPUs, CPU only. But it does support applications that use GPUs.
Use GPU-Z to see just how hard it is or isn't working, Process Explorer to see what it is that's using it.

If you're going to be pedantic, Boinc doesn't use CPUs either, just supports apps that run on CPUs....

I was being pedantic because i figured some one like you would point out that BOINC does use the CPU- check out Task manager. It's usage is low, but it does use it for file transfers, working out Scheduling, starting Tasks as other finish etc, if i said it didn't.

Irrelevant. Most sane people would say Boinc uses the CPU and the GPU, to run projects. Doesn't matter if it's handed down to other programs. For example Microsoft writes programs, even if they're all made by subcontractors.

Yes, but the question was about GPU usage, and BOINC doesn't use of the GPU, even though applications it manages do.
So, it was relevant to the question asked.

I think we could just say that BOINC support GPU usage.
Now, it's obvious that nor BOINC nor Rosetta@home was using his GPU.

No, you don't make sense. Pedantically, Boinc does not use the CPU or the GPU, it manages programs that do. Non-pedantically, it uses both (via the project apps). So saying Boinc uses the CPU and not the GPU is illogical either way.

So, does anyone know if or when Rosetta will use GPU? I know they're thinking about it, but I don't know if they're working on it, or how soon it will be. I know it could provide a huge increase in speed.
