Hmm. A tad confused here - my old android tablet and phone with 1GB of ram per, can run Ralph@home, but not Rosetta. Should I be running Ralph on such low-powered hardware, and let them focus on other projects?

What version is the Ralph WU? Isn't running it in less memory just what everyone was asking for?

I'm just confused - I'm not complaining. Happy to be able to contribute, despite the limits of my hardware. Just saw the conflicting information and wanted to double check - wanted to ensure I was contributing, not hindering.

And I'm a blind noob cruncher - so I have no idea how to check the version # on mobile. Sorry for wasting your time, thanks for the help :)

I misread your original question, I'm sorry. I thought you were saying you had received some Ralph WUs, and were puzzled as to why. I am not certain if they've made any changes to the memory requirements for the portable version.

No worries. I was pleased to receive some - lol.

Thanks for trying to help, regardless. I had to reinstall BOINC and it's back to needing 2GB of ram for both projects - o well lol.

Maybe it's because Rosetta works on 64 bits, while other projects run on 32 bits OS also... At least that's what happens with the Raspberry Pi 4, most OS are 32 bits yet and can't crunch Rosetta WU till they are updated :(
