This thread is for reporting errors that are NOT workunit Hangs (1% errors). Many of you have more than one computer, so Please include the type of error in your report, and a link to the RESULT in your stats page. This thread replaces the original thread located here.

I have got some errors few day's ago, was with the 4.97 version
hope these help to solve the problems

The errors:
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=16584016
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=16589387
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=16601614
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=16636833

This was on a Intel Mobile with 512MB of ram running XP SP1, I had no other machines running at that moment so no results from those.

and a question about the errors
Is the claimed credit going to be given?

I have had this computer running for a couple of weeks now,
It has completed processing several WU's but is claiming 0 credits, and reciving 0 credits..

It only crunches Rosetta.

https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=166680

And this machine
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?hostid=170191

Just started doing the same thing a few days ago

Any thoughts ??

in Give Credit where Credit is due there was mention that the 0 credit problem was happening with Win98 clients. I see you're running WinME; so all of Win9x is having problems; although you'll notice that they've promised to give credits for these 0 credit Win9x WUs if you read the other thread. So keep crunching.. and Rom will get the Boinc/Rosetta problem that's causing this .. ironed out.

Had a couple of client errors recently, was just curious as to what was known, if anything, about them.

Result links:
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=17001105
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=17047536

I had a spate of errors a few days ago, but the problem resolved itself, so I'm assuming there was something wonky with the work units or somesuch.. But these two have just popped up out of a bunch of good ones, and made me curious.

If anybody can look into them and let me know if there's anything I can to do help improve accuracy on my end, I'd appreciate it. Currently I'm running ONLY Rosetta.

I have a problem with uploading finished WUs from a computer behind a proxy.

For many weeks I was running BOINC on a computer behind proxy. It worked fine (I run Rosetta and Predictor there).
But 3 days ago something got wrong with uploading Rosetta results. I already have 9 results waiting to be transferred. Error messages that I get look like this:

12-04-2006 17:39:48|rosetta@home|Started upload of PRODUCTION_ABINITIO_CENTROID_PACKING_2ci2I_429_482_0_0
12-04-2006 17:39:54|rosetta@home|Temporarily failed upload of PRODUCTION_ABINITIO_CENTROID_PACKING_2ci2I_429_482_0_0: error 504
12-04-2006 17:39:54|rosetta@home|Backing off 3 hours, 37 minutes, and 26 seconds on upload of file PRODUCTION_ABINITIO_CENTROID_PACKING_2ci2I_429_482_0_0

What seems strange to me - even after those problems started, BOINC was still downloading new WUs from Rosetta. And Predictor works fine all the time (downloads/uploads).
I run BOINC 5.2.13 on a Pentium 4 with Windows XP Professional.

What can I do to report those results?

Just posted this on another thread:

Hi guys... thanks very much for reporting these errors. Work units with 1b3a, 1enh, 2tif, and 1ptq appear to be wreaking havoc throughout boinc. Sorry for the trouble -- this won't happen again, as we are increasing the stringency of our local tests that precede submission to boinc. Please MANUALLY ABORT work units with 1b3a, 1enh, 2tif, or 1ptq in the title!

I agree. I've run both Rosetta and Predictor for 3.5 months. Predictor has done 40% more work (10000 to 6000) because all Rosetta ever does is generate errors. I feel strongly that this should be fixed because otherwise it's a waste of effort.

Of the last 8 downloads 7 have been terminated with wthe client errot computing weirdness showing off.

This is really weird, Jose, thanks for reporting. Your error rate is extraordinarily high, on jobs that haven't been causing problems on other machines. What's really strange though is that you've got plenty of memory and a good machine! Has anyone else had Jose's consistently high error rate?

Did you ever think it might be Motherboard related?
I have have had some motherboard that would not work in some projects I say this because I have batches of the same model motherboards and when the all that batch will not work I would say it was M/B or driver related

Just a thought!!

File this one under "I've just wasted the last 21 hours away"...

I've just finished four WUs (17371787, 17367102, 17367039, and 17366677), on host 204887. All four are labeled as client error:
<message>Maximum CPU time exceeded</message>
$0.02? BS.

I'll be crunching elsewhere for a while...
