I was wondering about the team I've just joined - Canada (currently 11th highest rated team).
There doesn't appear to be any forum or discussion area for this team (unlike all of the other top 25 teams).
Is it the same as the Canada team for most of the other BOINC projects? i.e. http://www3.telus.net/kenking/index.htm but Rosetta isn't mentioned there...
Any ideas? Or is what I see here is it...?

I think a team forum would be great to have. Unfortunately, I don't have a web site or any web authoring experience. Hopefully someone on the team might read this who has some.

Can we just create a thread or two for the team in Cafe Rosetta? Or is that frowned upon?
We probably won't have enough posts to be worth creating a new forum. Adding to an existing team Canada forum on the other hand (if such exists), would be preferable.

Hi Tarx,

I don't see why we can't use the Cafe for now. Don't know if there's enough traffic to need a website. I noticed we've picked up a few members in the last couple days and I think if we can keep it going we'll keep our hold on 7th place which is great!

GO TEAM CANADA!

Looks like we have a good hold on 7th place and membership numbers are up again. We'll need to keep crunching and recruting members to maintain that standing. Good work.

B.B.

(And we've moved up in that few days to 10th position overall!)

I would be willing & happy to donate Hosting for a dedicated Canadian site. I'll even throw in a subdomain of one of my domains. We could link it to an Invision free board (simpler than hosting it ourselves) I'm just not sure if I have the time to take care of the admin side of things, but if someone else would like to help out on that, then lets get it done! Or we can just keep on posting here!

Hi Glen and welcome. I'm leaving for a couple of days but I'd like to ask you about setting something up when I get back. In order to set up a link from the Rosetta team Canada page I think we have to contact the founder of the team somehow and have that person add it.

Thanks for the offer.

Ok, Sounds good. I'll just sit over here and crunch some numbers while I wait.

Hi Glen, I'm back (finally).

So what do you think would be best? We don't have much traffic in the Cafe here but many people don't read the message boards. If there was a link on the team page then we might get more. We could direct people to the Cafe or to a separate site but only the founder of the team can do that. Not sure what to do as I know nothing about boards other than just using them.

You can e-mail me at bill(dot)d(at)canada(dot)com if you'd like.

Thanks,
Bill

You might try asking the moderator in this thread to contact the founder.
If they can't contact him they may offer to change founder.

Hope more of Team Canada posts here. We're really on the move. From April 14 we're up 26 members and up to 31,761 RAC from 27,196. A big thanks to lunarcom for the huge contribution and to all those who seem to be putting an ever increasing amount of resources toward Rosetta. I think this is a great project.

It would be good to hear from a couple of the people who just recently showed up in the top 20 of the team. It's great to see even though I keep getting knocked down a level every few days ;-)

Go Team Canada!

Crankin' up for CASP.
Temporarily dropped all other projects for Rosetta except for RALPH and LHC, wouldn't you know it at same time LHC finally releases some work.
I've been running the credits up at Leiden the past couple of weeks, Grizz was only one for Canada team. He was in the high fifty's for top teams, together we hit spot 40 for the moment. Anyone wants help us here is Leiden's site.
Also along that line there is only 5 members on Canada on Rosetta's Alpha test site RALPH .If you consider Rosetta is important than RALPH can be just as important. I haven't had too many promblems alpha testing lately, its been pretty smooth the last half dozen verison trials for me anyways.

Now for good news-bad news (your pick)
The Oilers smoked the Sharks 6 to 3 tonight tieing the series 2-2
Next pay day I'm ripping out the Celeron 400 and board out of my third box and replacing it Sempron. (will be in the top 20 of Canada in about a month)

Hey Big,
Congrats on the win. I guess that Edmonton writer that was dissing Calgary fans for bad behavior may have to eat a couple of words. I heard on the news the riot squad had to be called out after the win ;-)

I crunch full time for Rosetta but I'll see about doing some time on Ralph for the team.

Hope the Oilers keep doing well. As a Calgarian I have one warning for you guys.

Beware of low flying DUCKS!!!

Keep Crunchin'
Bill,
Calgary

Just thought I would say "Hi" to the rest of Team Canada, and other Edmonton Oiler fans. Normally I am an Ottawa Senator's fan, but that changed last night. Now I am cheering for Edmonton. I would really like to see the Stanley Cup kept in Canada for a change.

Cheers!
rbaker

PS: I crunch exclusively to Rosetta.
