Hi guys,

since you all know (i think), DPC is starting the stampede at R@H, but, we (DPC) are statsaddicts, is it possible to do an extra statsrun? Like every 3 hours in stead of every 6 hours? It will help us, for ou statsaddicts... otherwise we will be shaking and shivering at work, waiting for another (long) stats update :)

As you may have noticed on occasion, the servers are quite slow from time to time. This is because of heavy loads. I can put your question to the system administrator, but I think at this time they will not be increasing the frequency of functions that will increase the load on the servers. They are putting up some new hardware over the next few days/weeks, but this is to improve performance for the upcoming competition. Perhaps after that they might consider such a request.

You are interpreting me the wrong way, more stats will result in more work units beeing returned due to some nice competition

I have sent a message to the syste admin about this. But as I said the issue for the project is additional server loading.

Mod9 is correct. Our webserver is over-tasked at the moment and adding more work is not going to happen. As we've mentioned elsewhere, we're beginning a large build-out of the R@H infrastructure and once we've got something more robust out there we can look at increasing the frequency of stats calculation. Please feel free to remind me about it in a few weeks and I'll reasses the situation then.

The DPC (Dutch Power Cows) held a stampede over on FaD where they were claiming they'd turn Fozzie from Free-DC into Roadkill. Instead, Free-DC had a BBQ when the stampede was over. It was fun to watch... :)

Between their contribution, and the fact they spurred on the production of many of the other groups/teams - the project ended months earlier than expected.

Get enough people affected by the 1% bug to help out Rom on the Ralph project so it's eliminated before the stampede or at least before the month long stampede is over - and Rosetta can hold on to a fair number of Mad Cow Disease infected Dutch. :)

My suggestion is that for the 6 hour mark, to present the stats. For the 3 hour mark in between the 6 hour stats run, just pop up a sign for anyone in the DPC team that states, "The Dutch Power Cows are still being STOMPED." I.e. give them a slight incentive to produce more.

Competition amongst the DC teams is another way to help boost production, after all. And it can be infectious.. even to those of us in teams that were so far down the list that we had to scroll up to see the battles going on between the top 10 teams.
