Hi
I had boinc previously installed in the system.
At that time I was using SETI@home. I never managed to access to my account.
So, I download the most recent version for my OS. I tried to install and the software refuses to install.
Then I deleted all the app and associated files to boinc by reading the installing instructions. I restart the computer and then I still cannot install the software.
Any clues?!

Thanks

I personally don't have a Mac...

But have you tried asking at Team MacNN?

They are a large Mac team in boinc, and will probably be able to help you.

I will be moving this thread to the number crunching forum because it is off topic for the science forum.

In order to re-install the software, you will have to locate the receipts folder in the library folder of your startup disk, and delete the receipt for BOINC. After this file is deleted you will be able to install the software. Currently the system thinks it is already installed because the receipt it still there from the old software. You could also install a version higher than the one you had without the deletion step, but I do not have a web address for you where you might find 5.2.14, so you might have to look around for it.

I have boinc installed on X.3.9 but I just started getting this error:

<core_client_version>5.2.13</core_client_version>
<stderr_txt>
# random seed: 2648450
# cpu_run_time_pref: 86400
# DONE :: 1 starting structures built 35 (nstruct) times
# This process generated 35 decoys from 35 attempts
MacOS Error -43 occured in Mac_Lib.c line 64
MacOS Error -43 occured in Mac_Lib.c line 64

</stderr_txt>

Any thoughts on this error are greatly appreciated.

I see this error all the time on my Macs. I have not yet been able to find out what it means, but I will try again. It does not seem to have any effect on the validity of the WU result.
