I'm getting a security alert from Norton Internet Security that boinc.bakerlab.org is trying to access my bank account information (it blocks it so there is no problem). I see several of these whenever my computer has been on the internet for a period of time, and they only started popping up over the past weekend. I wonder if some malicious code has become attached to the Rosetta software.

Norton Internet Security (NIS) and other firewalls will report when they see activity on tcp/ip ports that they're not expecting. "trying to access bank account info" isn't a message I've seen by NIS or any of the other firewalls that my customers have used that pop up asking if certain apps are allowed to communicate with the internet; and I believe you're misquoting the actual error message that pops up.
Some of the firewalls I've played with allow you to adjust their settings from "relaxed" all the way up to "paranoid". The more secure the setting, the more probing that was reported. If there's a setting like that on the version of NIS you're using, which was recently changed, it would explain the recent security messages.
Please repost the whole error message (including file names, ports, etc) and we can verify whether the message is serious or ignoreable.
