Message 10286 - Posted: 31 Jan 2006, 22:06:41 UTC

Currently I'm getting the following message:
31-1-2006 21:12:18|rosetta@home|Message from server: No work sent
31-1-2006 21:12:18|rosetta@home|Message from server: (won't finish in time) Computer on 94.9% of time, BOINC on 99.2% of that, this project gets 100.0% of that
31-1-2006 21:12:18|rosetta@home|No work from project

Doesn't look very good to me. The message 'Computer on 94.9% of time' is very strange. My computer has an uptime of 99,99% so where does the client get the value 94.9% from?

Overhead from the OS and other applications like firewalls, brouwsers, etc. Look in your taskmanager under processes and you will see the percentage which Rosetta takes never reaches 100% and constantly fluctuates.

That should explain the part
BOINC on 99.2%
but not the time my computer is on.

That should explain the part
BOINC on 99.2%
but not the time my computer is on.

It explains both just with a slightly different slant. The other start up processes on your computer delay the shutdown and start up slightly. Anything in the 90% range is basically aways on.
