On June 7, I received "validate errors" on several tasks. These tasks were derived from other computers reporting "detached" and "aborted". The tasks as a result had "too many error results" and "too many total results". An example task is here Also, in the task description there is credit given for the task, but in the summary for the computer there is no credit given and on Boincstats, I received no credit for these tasks. |

Also, in the task description there is credit given for the task, but in the summary for the computer there is no credit given and on Boincstats, I received no credit for these tasks. Credit is granted for errored tasks in the belief that failures can help the scientists improve their work. Hoewver BOINC's normal credit systems can't handle awarding credit for errors, so a separate script is run each night to award credit. Mod.Sense wrote: The granting of credit for errors is done daily, and when it occurs, the credit is NOT shown on the list of WUs As Mod.Sense said recently in another thread, the credit does not show up in the work unit page. However looking at your link above the amount of credit claimed and granted are shown in the task page. Two of the task runs used zero CPU time and claimed zero credit; the final task run claimed 149 credits and received the full amount. I am not an expert on BOINC stats, but I believe the site receives and updates its data at particular intervals. Your task probably finished in one interval and the awarded credit appeared via the script in the following interval (so may be listed in the following day). Or are you certain that the credit never appeared at all on BOINC stats? |
