Ralph is fine and serving it's purpose.

Really? Months without new work, years without new apps and forums abandoned....

Please, turn off the server, it's a waste of electric current

Uh, something moves on Ralph's side:
The rosetta_android_beta application has been updated to version 4.11. This version uses the latest Rosetta source.

Waiting for wus to test

Came onto the forum just out of surprise of seeing some work units.

Unfortunately most seem to be failing. :(

I have a lot of "finish file present too long" errors.
Seems to be a boinc server problem. Some days ago, boinc team released a new version of server so it's possible to solve it with an update.
But i don't know if it's simple or not.

RALPH doesn't "flood the channel" so to speak, so unless you happen to request work at the right moment, or your computer randomly checks in with the server at the right time you won't pick up any tasks as they already are distributed. They only send out a few thousand (at best) WU's, compared to 100's of thousands for Rosetta.

From Ralph home page:
New application version 4.17 graphics has issues.
A new application was released that includes improvements to the database extraction method. Unfortunately, there is an issue with the graphics application in this update. We are working on a fix.

It's good. All I need is ~8 tasks to test how DB dir sharing work.

New 4.18 version at Ralph@Home.

The improvements in this update include:

1. The use of a lock file so only one job extracts the database into the project directory while other jobs wait, including graphics. Once the database is extracted, all jobs read the same database.

2. Checkpointing added to the Rosetta comparative modeling method.

4.20 is out
This version includes a fallback to the original method of extracting into the slot directory for each job if extracting into the project directory fails.

And there were such cases? Worth to investigate why extracting into slot not fail while extracting into project dir fail.
