I have just bought a new computer with 4 GB RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo E2160 processor and have installed a Kubuntu 7.10 64 bit OS on it. The R@H preferences are set at the default of using up to 16 cores. /proc/cpuinfo shows that all four cores are identified on this machine. R@H runs only two work units at a time, that is, it uses only two cores. This is the same as my older Core Duo (dual-core) laptop, The current version is Rosetta Beta v5.91 How do I configure this machine to use all four cores? |

As far as I can determine, the E2160 only has two cores. If you look at this Intel web page, I Intel® Processor Numbers, you will see that Intel has this processor listed as a dual core. The specification page for the Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Desktop Processor E2160 What information has led you to the conclusion that you have a four core machine? |
