When I try to connect to a project (have tried a few) I get the response Message from server: platform '' not found I've searched a little, and most people seem to have their cpu info in between the ''. I guess the program failed to recognize my cpu. Can I set it manually somewhere and what is it supposed to be? My cpu is an AMD 64 and I am running debian linux. I installed boinc using apt. |

Your other machines look like new installs as well. Is it safe to assume that you just recently downloaded the current Linux version of BOINC? Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

No, it seems to be an older version actually, 5.4.11-4. I'll try to manually install the newest version now. Edit: Thanks for your help, I think it's working now. At least it's running, we'll see if it can complete. :) I had to install the package ia32-libs in order to start it. |
