Hi all,

I am having a problem downloading the R@H WU as my company proxy explicitly denies .exe file extensions. Here is my log file:

Any way around this?

I can only mention that the .exe file is available here, and so if you can download it on another PC and copy it to a shared drive, or to a thumb drive or something, you can then just copy it in to your BOINC Rosetta directory and it will not have to download it. But I would point out that Rosetta creates a new release about every 6-12 weeks. So, hopefully you can find a better way around the problem. Perhaps they can create a rule to allow .exe from specific "trusted" IP addresses?

So, I found the exe and got it on my work machine. No chance to get a proxy exception, so I will have to sneakernet it until I find a better solution.

Should I restart the client after I download that file?

Yes, I would exit BOINC (exit, not close) and drop the .exe in to the directory and then restart BOINC.

Don't feel too bad, I have 6 machines at home I would like to switch from E@H to Rosetta and not only can't I download any additional work units other than the 2 or 3 I received when I initially attached to the project, I can't find anyone who can even offer any help even though nothing in the FAQ matches the problem I'm experiencing.

I have found that I didn't need to close BOINC to get this to load. Once it sees the file, it skips the D/L and continues.
