I've been trying to get the BOINC screensaver to work for some time on Windows XP. It works if I do not have it set to lock the computer when it is running. I cannot manually lock it (using Win key +L) OR set it to lock automatically when the screensaver starts or I just get a black screen. First it says "BOINC Screensaver Loading" then it just goes to a blank screen. I've tried many things, including setting BOINC to start processing after a 1 minute no-activity delay and setting my screensaver to come on after 3 minutes, but it doesn't matter I still get the blank screen. I need to have my computer locked when I'm not near it. How can I get the screensaver to run while the computer is locked? All my other third-party screensavers work just fine!
