I'm seeing this issue posted for quite a bit but not seeing much in the way of solutions. I have the same problem everyone else seems to be having:

Boinc is my screensaver
never comes on
hit Preview, flashes for a second, then goes away
'On Resume' is not checked
'Go To Blank Screen' is not checked
There is a 5 in the minutes menu for 'Go To Blank Screen'

Could you attach to another project e.g. seti/ einstein / etc that also has a screensaver to see if it also happens there. If it does it's probably a BOINC platform problem and not a specific Rosetta@home problem.

Also know more about your computer would help.
