When I look at the 'Statistics' tab there are portions of the graph that are flat horizontal segments. What does this mean? |

I believe that it means that during that time your RAC did not increase. |

The flat portions are times when your total credit was not increasing. For example, if you shut your computer down over the weekend, there will be a flat area, there, because you didn't report any results during that time. Although the flat line means that no work was reported, your computer might still have been working. For example, a dial-up user who keeps a full cache and connects only every 3 days will have lots of 3-day flat areas with spikes in between. Hope that helps. Within the statistics tab, there are many views. It depends upon what you clicked at the left. But, as described previously, credits don't generally grow in a straight line (assuming you were looking at user or host TOTAL). It all depends upon when results are actually reported back, so if your normally full-time internet connection wasn't up or whatever, that can delay credits ahead in time. They are simply awared the next time you report, so your graph will grow more like an irratic stock chart (without the declines :) then a smooth curve or straight line. Think of it as graphic the speed of a drag racer that has to shift gears in order to go faster. Thanks folks for all the replies and help. I do connect to the internet via dial-up so I had assumed what Mage492 said was part of the answer. When I go to the 'Statistics' page I usually just look at 'Show User Total', since I have a very limited understanding of all the information on the 'Statistics' page. |
