I've been running these guys since July. I've learned to not rely on the estimated finish time at all. They finish. . . in anywhere from a couple hours, to about 72 hours on a p-300. Once you find out how long it takes your computer to run a WU, they tend to stick around the same value.

I've got my first rosetta (20/9.09) (resource share/%), sah (100/45.45), & cpdn (100/45.45) wu's running. All are playing nice together - so far. Rosetta wu is 2:08cpu time/26.67%/5:52 to completion since last night. HT 3.4GHz windoze. Using BOINC 4.45.

Sounds like an interesting project.

I'm glad that someone has posted how long the units kind of take I was worring when I signed upo and the 1st WU downloaded as the time to completion is 393hours. I looked at the deadline and thought there is no way this will complete in the time allocated even if on 24hrs a day.

Will wait for BOINC to get around to starting the unit I have a few going at the same time

Hm, it stops counting % at value 83,33%. I let it one hour and it takes 100% PCU but % are not changing. Any idea?

Take a look at this https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=15 its about what you are experiencing and there is a explanation in there

Remember this is still a BETA test so there will be problems here and there

My first WU looks strange.
Yesterday evening it was at 66.6% after 5h00' and this morning it is around 73% - running time 13h00'...
Do you think I have to cancel it?

I donĀ“t think you should compare the % completed and the timesteps. Looks like the % just jumping forward in huge steps...

Iam now at 86,67% after 21:18h. In top computers a p4 3,2Ghz takes about 29-30h for one WU another 15h. Iam waiting now some hours for finishing...

Im at 83.33% now after 13.5hours went to bed and just left it running.

As I understand it the WU now makes more complex calculations so this final push may take its time, so I'm keeping my other projects suspended just to see how long it will take

I finally aborted mine Sunday morning when in the last 12 hours the time to completion went from 1.5 to 2.5 hours. I like the site and the forum is responsive, but 2 days and the % just keeps going up is too much. Someone sait you may need 512 megs of RAM, that could be as I have only 496. I will try again when they have their new windows application.

Mine was sulking about virtual memory when I woke up this morning but all seems well will just keep it going over next 24hrs to see what happens. If nothing happens then I will dettach from the project until a new updated platform is ready for it.

I finished my first WU last night. No problems here (except for the long expected time to completion of 240 hours, so Boinc went into deadline mode), it took 14h30min.

I've completed several WUs. At least one of them only took a few seconds, the rest took a a couple of hours, yet all of them had an error. I am not having problems with any other program that I am on. I guess that the WUs are corrupt to begin with.

Bob

Try the 4.45 or 4.72 all works fine here, I know this old error but solved in higher versions.
