I"m confused by the lack of credit for previous work units. None of my prior tasks seem to have generated any credits. i also have a problem running more than 3 rosetta at home workunits. I understand that GPU workunits aren't available, and that the 3-task limit is based on limitations of processor cache size. Finally, I get this error message, which doesn't make sense to me: It seems to be saying I won't be able to complete tasks in time, but I don't know how to fix it - none of my other BOINC projects give me this error. I"m confused by the lack of credit for previous work units. Most likely instead of re-joining the project as an existing user, you created a new account. I understand that GPU workunits aren't available, and that the 3-task limit is based on limitations of processor cache size. No, the limit is due to RAM, your system has plenty of RAM so you should be able to run Tasks on all 8 of your cores/threads. Finally, I get this error message, which doesn't make sense to me: It seems to be saying I won't be able to completeIt's not an error, it's a message letting yo know why you can't get more work. The project recently made changes to how work was allocated to stop people form getting more work than their system can possibly process before the deadline. Since you re-attached to the project, all of your previous application processing history no longer exists, so your system will try to get more work than it can process until the Estimated completion times get closer to reality. Having said that, it appears your system doesn't have any work at all to process. In your account, Preferences for this project RosettaI@home preferences, check that "Use CPU is selected", or just detach from the project again, and this time connect using your previous account (not this one). Then you should get your crunching history back, and it should be able get work as it did before. Grant Darwin NT |

there is a statistics file for those nice charts that you see in the gui manager. Unfortunately, you'd need to backup that file before the change to 'port' that statistics over. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=13894&postid=95906 but otherwise your total credits would remain unchanged |
