It is really awe inspiring to see so many people come together across the world to help with the fight against COVID-19. I looked through the members list and saw too many different countries to count. Thank you so much to everyone for your help! If possible, please mention to friends and family that they can join too if they would like. You are all amazing, and together we can make a difference! |

I also have a Core2duo running along with my newer computer. Every since I upgraded my Core2duo to E8500 the cpu fan is loud when the cpu is maxed out. I have to run boinc at %50 to watch TV. |

I joined this group thinking our computer resources are being put to use for COVID-19 specifically... is this true? If not, how do I go about doing this? |

They have COVID-19 work units mixed in with other ones (still?), but i am pretty sure if they went exclusively to COVID-19 units they would run out anyway. Anyway, someone asked about how long a work unit takes for others, mine take about 8 hours on a Gen 1 (Spectre patched, so yay.....) threadripper |

Hi everyone! Great to see you all working against covid-19. I have 3 computers (Core i5 & Core i7) running BOINC almost 24/7. Most of my WUs takes around 6-12 hours to complete. |

Hey Everybody! We are all a part of one of the world's largest, and most essential Supercomputers. At this time it's important to remember what this means. A single one of our host computers couldn't do anything to help (No matter how badass it is), but together we are incredibly strong. I feel this is an especially apt metaphor for life at this time. Together we will persevere, because together we are strong. Someone was asking about whether R@h is only running COVID-19 units. At this time, I believe the whole Rosetta system is being used exclusively for COVID-19 project work. I think they were mixing other units in at the beginning, probably to keep everyone running. There is an excellent backlog of work now, and it seems to be all COVID-19 units coming down the line. There seems to be some confusion regarding the length of time it takes to complete work units. This is something that can be changed through your R@h online profile. The default is set to 8 Hours. This means based on your host benchmarks, ideally the server should be sending units that should take your host 8 hours to complete. If there aren't enough of your "ideal" units available of if R@h has prioritized specific work, then that may be what you get. I've received units from 2 hours to 16 in length. Thank you so much, and keep up the great work! Robin |
