Too bad they can't get rid of the "Ghost" W/U's that show as available, but do not exist. Bill F In October 1969 I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; There was no expiration date. |

I note Rosetta tasks in progress increased by about 20k since I last looked - never got any of them But before any extra mini Rosetta tasks show on the server status page I've just filled my entire buffer on 3 machines with them More weirdness, but more tasks downloaded than I anticipated too, so no complaint from me |

But before any extra mini Rosetta tasks show on the server status page I've just filled my entire buffer on 3 machines with them Mini-Rosetta in progress number goes up 35k and 15k showing available to download. Plus those earlier 20k Rosetta tasks in progress. A healthy boost today. Well done. Plus tasks awaiting validation are effectively zero, so another bonus for us. |

In progress tasks have gone up 150k in the last few days, which is both great and unexpected. Hopefully that's keeping everyone busy because no more new tasks are available to grab at this time |

In progress tasks have gone up 150k in the last few days, which is both great and unexpected. In progress tasks seem to have reduced by about 100k in just over a day. That puts into context the extra 20k or 50k at a time we've seen arrive intermittently over the holiday. Nice to have but never enough to satisfy everyone. And the validation backlog is up to 68k again - not even keeping pace. I'm on my last 8 tasks on one machine with all the others working on backup projects again |

Hi, Add World Community Grid https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/discover.action#what-if to your list of projects for when Rosetta is out of work. |

I've also used WCG when this Rosetta project is too flaked out. Actually, I think WCG is pretty flaky, too, but at a more professional level of flakiness. Not sure I would trust the research results from either one of them. I was actually hoping to find some explanation of the flakiness, an acknowledgement, a solution plan, or even a sign of life in Washington. Might be easier to check on Mars or Ultima Thule? #1 Freedom = (Meaningful - Constrained) Choice{5} != (Beer^3 | Speech) |

I would lean to the favorable side on WCG I higher crust of Academia. Bill F In October 1969 I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; There was no expiration date. |

I would never neglect WCG either. On each of my Ryzens (1700 and 2700) I have 12 cores on WCG, 3 cores on TN-Grid, and 1 core supporting a GPU on Folding. And if you are on Linux, be sure to check out GPUGrid/QC. It is using machine learning to train AI systems that allows them to crunch the final solution in-house on their GPUs (for protein-ligand interactions as I understand it). While we are on the subject, the David Baker lab is collaborating with Dr. Voelz of the Folding group to do at least one project. That should be very exciting; the possible interactions are endless. https://apps.foldingathome.org/project.py?p=14150 You never know what approach will be the most productive in the long run; the technology and science are moving too rapidly. |

Still 0 new tasks... Also, the validator is stuck. I have had 11 pending for the last 7 hours. |

Appears to be resolved ... WU's available for download and 5100 WU's in Validator which is down from what it was. Bill F In October 1969 I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; There was no expiration date. |

Same for me. It's also odd that out of the 6 machines I have running BOINC/Rosetta, only 3 of them routinely can get work units. I added Cosmology and Einstein @ home to keep some kind of work being done. It's interesting to me that there is almost no info filtering down from Rosetta about the issues with delivering, crunching and verifying the project work. Am I missing an announcement page or other place to find out why/what is going on? |

Am I missing an announcement page or other place to find out why/what is going on? The Server status page now says there is work, so you know as much about it as anyone (which isn't much). It comes and goes. As the discussion on the User of the Day indicates, we are interchangeable and expendable. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=3752&postid=90295#90295 Assuming we are here at all. |
