How do I get out of this thing?

I have worked with SETI and Folding projects but this takes the cake. It disables the screen saver. When I force the screen saver on it will not let the display go to sleep. Help get me out of this thing.... You cannot delete your Rosetta account. You can detach from the project and abandon the account but it will still exist on the server. As to the rest of your question, what exactly are you trying to do, and what is happening?. If one cannot detach from this project then be kind enough to say so before one signs up. As to your impertant question it is just as I said. Two process were running and when they run the screen saver will not activate. When I activate it manually, the screen will not go into 'sleep' or 'shut down' as it should resulting in a waste of energy as well as keeping the room fully lit up. The other projects I ellude to both allow the screen saver function and go sleep mode to run properly under normal control of the operating system. The other annoyng thing about this BOINC software is there is no record made available of where things are put when the installation takes place. Since you appear to be talking about the BOINC software in general not about the Rosetta@home project in particular, when you install BOINC, the third screen of the installation process (the one after the licence agreement) asks where you'd like to install BOINC to. The default location is shown (C:Program FilesBOINC). This is where the BOINC software is placed. The only file that gets put elsewhere is boinc.scr which gets put into the Windows folder (eg C:WINDOWS). The uninstaller should delete all of these files. There are a few other files that get put in other places, and most of the BOINC files are placed in the Library folder on the startup disk. Let me ask then, out of curiosity, on the Mac, isn't it possible to uninstall the same way as in Windows? When I run the uninstall program from Windows, it cleans up everything (except some things in the register editor, where you sometimes have to remove things yourself or run a program that can removed traces of programs not longer existing in your system), I can't imagine that Mac OS's don't do the same? And one step in the Windows installation of BOINC is a question page, where you're asked if you want BOINC as your default screensaver, which I always answer no to. Doesn't it say the same in the Mac installation? Screensavers are set in the OS system, and setting it to be none is the way to do, when you don't was the room to be lit up while crunching. Depending on the settings for system sleep and monitor sleep, you get different results. Many people are not aware that these setting are separate.[/color][/b] Thanks.
