Got an install on my son's OC as a service. It installed fine, started running, dlwonladed work, and uploaded a couple of finshed jobs. Now it won't download or upload any work anymore. :-( I get this:

Ok, I get to answer my own question!! :)

I had set the directory for BOINC as hidden to hide it from my sons prying eyes. Apparently it doesn't like that for some reason. Resit it to visible and it reconnected straight away.

Hope no one else has this issue ever.

Thanks
Mick

I think he's referring to when you right click on a directory in the Windows Explorer, select Properties, and then there is a checkbox for "hidden".

same seems to happen on linux if the project folder and files residing in there don't belong to boinc.boinc , as well the xml and other project related files in /var/lib/boinc-client. check also the slots folder, since computing seems to fail if the slot(s) belong to root.
I had the same issue with rosetta, while seti was fine...
