Hi there,

after painful weeks i managed to give up the wish to work on rosetta by using my GPU.
I saw, that in the settings you can choose to use 4-hour WU's and much bigger ones, and i read that its just a size i choose but that it doesnt change much. My question is: what is easier to handle for rosetta, what makes lesser work, when i take bigger units or smaller ones ? Or is it completely the same ?

Depending on how much time per week you have your machine running and the R@h resource share... a smaller number of tasks per week would generally be less overhead both for your machine and network bandwidth, and for the project servers, scheduler, and etc.

Yes, the task itself is "the same". The associated files and etc. with the task are just used to generate more models on a longer-running task.

The runtime preference may change existing work you have downloaded. So I always recommend to make increases to runtime preference gradually and when your cache of pending work is on the low side.

Thanks for the hint, i set them to 8 hours for now. have a i7-6700k on windows 10 and 16 GB RAM and the pc runs around 5 hours daily, on the weekend 16 hours.
Maybe it makes sense to put it even higher then 8h ?

Ideally you'd be able to return a workunit with a 48hr deadline. Sometimes tasks take longer than the runtime preference to complete. So I'd say 8hr runtimes is about right for your situation.

The savings to the servers is very minor. So, more importantly is finding what fits for the way you use your machine.
