Windows client working okay (for now, though it's been pretty flaky the last few weeks), but the Mac client is showing the special problems again. Windows immediately clears and takes any pending work, while Mac tries for a long time, then does nothing but defers for a long time. (Ubuntu is also problematic, but not running any of my Ubuntu machines this morning, so I don't know if the status is closer to Windows or Mac.)

Might have briefly recovered. It seemed to accept all the pending work units and it's pretty certain that it downloaded a batch of fresh work units, but now it is back in the same broken status.

When the Mac is asked to Refresh, it tries for a long time, and then goes back to the "Communication deferred" status, without doing anything. The "Ready to report" units remain ready, and no new work units are downloaded. I should time the waiting period, but on my other non-Mac machines it is only a few seconds (and then something usually happens), while on the Mac it is a minute or five (before nothing happens).

The last download on the Mac was a bunch of 10-something units, which tend to finish quickly, so the Mac will probably run out of work again soon. The finished ones didn't get reported last night, and have already failed to be reported twice this morning.

Confirmed as broken again for the Mac. Windows and Ubuntu fine. (Which seems odd, since the server-status page shows most of the servers down.)
