Hi!

Apparently a problem with the download here.

For some reason I went to these pages and also downloaded new tasks.

The problem is that if you do not make the setting for this, I get many tasks at the same time.

If I happen to be doing a couple of other things, either BOINC, or non-BOINC, I could experience a hang, or lock-up of things.

This happened now.

Computer number is 2937084 and should better be listed in the account page.

If possible, the server could abort the tasks that became downloaded, because here I am stuck.

Sorry about that, but if all the tasks try starting up and running at the same time, such a thing is likely to happen.

Thanks!

Looks like your host has 12 CPU cores and 16GB of memory. You can configure how much total memory you wish to allow BOINC to use. It sounds like R@h tasks are a bit memory intensive when running alongside the rest of what your machine is doing.

Limiting the amount of memory that BOINC can use may result in idle CPUs during periods of time when some tasks are using more memory than average. If you have not already done so, you might consider adding other BOINC projects as well. Most other projects use less memory that Rosetta, and so it will afford a way for the BOINC Manager to run some smaller tasks mixed with some large memory tasks, and keep CPUs busy, yet still not exceed your configured memory preference.

Hi!

Tried fixing this today by renaming the folder for the tasks under C:ProgramDataBOINCprojects.

A combination of exiting BOINC Manager completely, setting NNT and also resetting the project gave no result.

Also renaming the folder for the project after exiting BOINC Manager completely did not help either, because when restarting the Manager, it did not recognize the folder with the tasks being stored.

Either the same tasks needs to be downloaded once more, which I think is not the way it is supposed to be done.

For the other projects I have used to be running with 100% of the CPU's even when doing a couple of other things.

But definitely it breaks when trying to download and run 12 such tasks when a couple of other things are being carried out at the same time.

I was able to access the Manager after renaming the folder and set it to run at 25% of the CPU's.

Now I have set it back to 100% again.

Perhaps I should be thinking a little more about what I am doing, but if for example CUDA is being enabled, or there are no other restrictions being set when it comes to the running of tasks under BOINC Manager, such things probably will be happening at times.

I think it would be best continuing what I was originally doing.

Therefore it for now probably ends up with the idea or initial thought I came up with, or was on my mind.

The details of your host seem to indicate you are running Windows 7 with no service packs installed? So this may be the cause of some of the instability handling higher workloads.
