Hi

Rosetta was working up till the 19th Feb but is now saying " it needs Hardware Acceleration".

Has Rosetta changed its requirements ?

Are you trying to run the python tasks?

That's virtual box saying it needs hardware acceleration.

Hi

I don't know if python is being used or not and I haven't been able to find where it will say this or how to stop it if it is using python . Have looked at all my preferences etc. and can't locate where to change.

Hi, sorry for the delay,

One way to tell is look at the task names.
Look in the tasks tab of BOINC manager and locate your Rosetta work units.
Then look in the Application column and see if you see 'rosetta python projects 1.03 (vbox64).
If you have these running then you have python running.
If you don't see that, then you are running or were running 4.2 tasks or Rosetta was trying to run Python tasks, but your configuration is not correct.

To set your account to get Python tasks then do the following:

Start with the Your account page, then goto the Computing and credit and look for Computers on this account and click on that.

In the Computer ID column (first left column) locate your computer (if you are using multiple system, find the one that is attached to this project) and click on "Details" (below the systems ID #)

Now you see your computer ID# and Computer information

Go ALL the way to the BOTTOM and you will see VirtualBox VM jobs and there is a big red and white button to enable or skip virtual box tasks. You want to click on that and then go back to BOINC projects tab and click update on RAH.

Then you should get some Python work providing you have Virtualbox installed and Virtualization enabled on your board.

I see from the projects you are attached to, you are not doing anything Virtualbox.
So why RAH is asking for hardware acceleration is odd.
RAH does not use the GPU.

I would suggest you take any further questions over to here https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=6893 as this is where the experts users are at and where we talk about all things project related. They have discussed this in the past, but I don't remember the solution.
