This is something to look at. It might fix the problem, although I'm not going to promise anything. In your configuration screen under "View or edit general preferences", there's an entry that talks about leaving apps in memory. If that's set to no, try setting it to yes. |

Do the Rosetta Team get a weekly or daily notification of the jobs that are returned with errors, or is it up to us to point them out? I hope it's not up to us and you get a summary automaticaly so you can get good idea of which bug need looking at. Wouldn't call that a fix, more a bodge ;) Although if you can link in your stats or type your computer ID's number in it gives people your computer information and they can also see which jobs gave what error :) This computer seems to be having fun :S Team mauisun.org |

You are not doing anything wrong. The Science Application, for whatever reason, is passing a bad value. This causes the halt. This should be of interest to the developers but I think he was traveling till today ... However, I would also like to have a copy of your log file so I can add it to the Wiki as an error message (when I can work again). Zip up the TXT files in the BOINC directory and e-mail them to p.d.buck@comcast.net I will get to it SOMEDAY and this is a good example ... |

[quote] Although if you can link in your stats or type your computer ID's number in it gives people your computer information and they can also see which jobs gave what error :) quote] Um stats? I'm sure you don't mean this... My log file?? :D Bear with me, I've never had a chicken for a friend before :D Paul I'm sending you out the log now. The text file didn't have the errors high lighted so I'm sending it out as a .doc for whatever reason, is passing a bad value. I guarantee it hasn't been eating spicy food! Let's see what is that computer.. (I'm tired) It's an AMD 1.4 tbird. specs?? well, it's a frankenbox of my creation. :D ECS kt7a and I think 3/4 of a gig of RAM. 2 hard drives mmmm 100 and 200 gig? :D sorry... Come BOINC with me! I have a "tool" based on GREP that finds them for me ... :) All the messages that are currently in the Wiki are in the list of "known" messages. So, you can send me logs of any length and I run the tool and it lists all the messages I am missing. From there I can then use search to find them in the source file, and from THERE, decide if I have enough to make a good example. In some cases I have as many as 20-30 lines to cover a history of the work from seed to sewage. I also have a log of an entire CPDN work unit that I hope to document real soon now ... :) So, no need to do anything more than to zip up the logs in the directory and send them to me ... besides, you never know, there may be another interesting message there that is lurking ... :) Anyway, I have the log, now to get well enough to work again ... |

Actually yes, but on that page there is a list of your computers (or installation, if you have reinstalled.. ;-) Figure out which one it is and link to that one. But probably not needed anymore (more in case anyone else is reading this) Team mauisun.org |
