Rosetta project URL

Who dreamed this one up. You need the project URL which will be sent to you in an email only after you enter the project URL to create an account so the email can be sent. Talk about dumb. Did someone work hard at making BOINC first time user hostile? I sat a few people down in front of BOINC and asked them to connect to a project for the first time. All three failed to figure it out what to enter as the project URL. The http://boinc.berkeley.edu/ list of projects does not help.
