I started to have my anti-virus software reporting threat detected when BOINC download Mini Rosetta saying that it probably a variant of Win32/Statik application.

Kindly Check if it really is infected.

Best Regards,

There have been discussions between Rosetta and ESET to let them know that they are flagging a false positive, and to try and understand why this is so. But I don't know if a resolution has been found.

See these two threads for the ongoing discussion
thread 1
thread 2

I haven't seen any posts about any other virus products having this problem. Are you using NOD from ESET?
