There's a paper being published in PNAS by Smith and others from the University of Tennessee on protein folding. See here http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/09/070917172945.htm for a summary. It appears to involve improvements in modelling folding by considering in detail how water molecules interact with hydrophobic areas of different sizes. It seems that it may be more relevant to folding kinetics (and thus to Folding@home) than to Rosetta but it would be interesting to hear any thoughts Rosetta team menbers might have on this paper. |
