Message 36991 - Posted: 20 Feb 2007, 11:59:59 UTC

I was enjoying seeing the graphic display showing the progress of my first project. I steped away for a few minutes from my PC then when I returned I cannot find the window showing the project. How can I get the display back?

Were you watching the 'ScreenSaver'. That will disappear when you reactivate your PC. To watch a WU go to 'BOINC Manager' and hit 'Tasks'
then 'Show Graphics'. Might be an idea to set 'ScreenSaver' to 'NONE'
and only watch WUs through 'Show Graphics'.

I just returned to the PC and the project was again not visible. Between my last post and now, it looks like a new one started. When I go to the Advanced Screen - Tasks the "Show Graphic" is grayed out. How do I get it to not be grayed out?

Also I see my current and only project showing a time to completion that is ticking UP-wards. Is this the way it should be?

Can you get BOINC Manager on your screen?? if so -In Boinc Manager -
Try 'Simple'

Select 'Task'.
Highlight the running WU.
Select 'Show Graphics' and the running WU should appear,
{you do need to make sure the running WU is highlighted by pointing the mouse pointer at the running WU and clicking on it, a grey bar should show in the Application space, on the running WU}.

The 'Show Graphics' will only show the current running WU.

{see much correspondence in the message boards about how the clock system works for Rosetta}.
If the above does not work i suggest you repost your query in Number Crunching - problems with rosetta 5.46 - where you will hopefully get a much more technical reply. This forum is not so widely read as the other.

****Yes I can

****Looks like the issue was caused by switching to anouther account on Windows XP. When I return it started a new task. I changed the memory setting and it now keeps the project when I return.

Since then I have one project that is 100% complete and another one has started.

One question I see that under the Advanced Task tab the project is ready to report but under messages it shows complete. The message says" DOC_1CHO_R070216_pose_u_pert_bbmin_from_farlx_abs_tol_1571_9703_0 finished"

1)Is there a delay or do I have to do something to make the report?
2)If there is a dealy, when it does report will I then see the credit?
3)What does this mean "Requesting 90 seconds of new work"?
Why only 90 seconds?
4)I see this also "Deferring communication for 4 min 2 sec". Why the wait?
5)I tried to find answers to my questions above on the web site but could not. Can they be found anywhere? I am sure that I will want to learn more about the program but have not found an area that covers the details of the meaning of the various messages.

Hi Benito

Welkome to Rosetta

Some answers comming up :)

1. It will upload the next time Boinc want new Rosetta work or
if the report dead line is close.(you can report it yourself by pressing "send and recive")

2. You will get credit when it is validated.(usually very fast)

3. The 90 seconds is related to what your "Connect to network about every"
setting is.

4. The server would be swamped with traffic if all clients connect to often.

5. This tread holds much ifo. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=669

Hope this helped :)
