Hi

I haven't been receiving work units from Rosetta or World Community Grid for months.

Both projects appear to be connecting to their respective hosts, but when I select "Update", both return the status "Communication deferred" with a repeating 31 second countdown.

Please can someone help diagnose this. Thanks! Event log follows:

I haven't been receiving work units from Rosetta or World Community Grid for months.
WCG has been down for months, they only recently came back online, and are still working the bugs out & work is very sparse- any issues you have getting work from them, you need to take up with them on their forums.

With Rosetta there is only very occasionally Rosetta 4.20 Tasks available, it's the luck of the draw whether or not you're able to get any.
Python Tasks are always available, but if you miss deadlines (which it looks like you have), or produce errors, then you may be black listed. Go to your account page, Computers, Details, and down near the bottom should be a python tasks section. If there is an Allow button, click on it, and work should start flowing.
To help keep it flowing set you cache to less than a day (0.25 days & 0.01 additional days should be plenty).

You have lots of course & threads, but very little RAM on that system, which will massively impact your ability to do any Python work.
Setting the RAM requirement to 100% when in use & 100% when not in use will allow you to do more work, and won't actually result in all RAM being used.
Don't use GPU while active is generally unnecessary- if you do get GPU Tasks from WCG, and it impacts on other work, you can suspend GPU processing just while doing that affected work. Depending on the type of GPU work, you may need to reserve a CPU core/thread to support each running GPU Task- you need to work that out with the project providing the GPU work.

And most of all- unless you are using your system for CPU based rendering, there is no need to suspend BOINC work at all, set it to 0 (leave it blank). BOINC applications are generally set to the lowest priority levels- other programmes have higher priority levls & when they start BOINC Tasks will get less processing time & so not affect other programmes.
