Running BOINC 5.2.13 under Win XP, Rosetta 4.82. Almost every WU crashes due to "computation error". A very few complete. The WUs are all HB_BARCODE_30<remainder of WU name>. Is the rate of failure something seen by other users?

I have same BOINC version, same WU names, and Win XP with SP2, and a 1 day target runtime. Mine seem to be doing fine. They are working on resolving a problem where WUs have problems when they get preempted. The recommendation is to go to the General Preferences (not the Rosetta prefs) and set it to leave applications in memory when preempted.

A couple of other settings that might help further minimize WU losses would be to increase the time for "switch between applications" (I bumped mine all the way to 360, i.e. 6 hrs, or 4 times a day). And in the Rosetta preferences, you might set your target runtime to a lower value than whatever you have now (probably take it down to 2 hours). Always be sure to exit BOINC prior to shutting down your PC (mine runs 24hrs).

The new version that is more tollarent of preemption is one it's way.

Keep crunching Rosetta!

I see that it looks like you're now back to crunching without errors. I was curious, did you change any of the preferences? Or, did just getting different WUs make the improvement?
