Message 87655 - Posted: 9 Nov 2017, 23:49:20 UTC

The problem seemed to start with 65 Rosetta Computation Errors for various tasks, I then started getting the following, for example:

Etc., etc.

The above continues until all but two tasks are downloaded but none start because they seem to be waiting for these remaining two tasks, the two .exe tasks, to be downloaded, which never happens.
If I then abort the two downloading .exe tasks, all of the finished downloads switch to "Downloads Failed".

If I then ask for more work, the above repeats.

Message 87682 - Posted: 13 Nov 2017, 14:02:10 UTC - in response to Message 87655.

I have downgraded from BOINC 7.8.3 to 7.6.33 to make sure that the problem is not because of the latest BOINC upgrade. Unfortunately, the BOINC downgrade has made no difference. I still cannot do any Rosetta tasks!
Is there anyone out there or am I raising this issue in the wrong forum?

It works for me (BOINC 7.8.3). I would detach from Rosetta and re-attach.

Since those are executable files you have problems with, it could be antivirus program that blocks BOINC from creating the files.

Or it could be that the files already exists (partially downloaded) but BOINC can't open them for writing (to continue downloading). You could check C:ProgramDataBOINCboinc.bakerlab.org_rosetta to see if the files exist and if they do, remove them.

Thanks, Juha. I took your and Jim's advice. It now works.
