I downloaded BOINC to a new computer. When I try attaching to a project I get the error message "BOINC manager is currently not connected to BOINC client." Any idea how to resolve this? Thanks! |

Are you using ZoneAlarm? Did you allow the client to run as a server? The BOINC Manager communicates with the applications via internal sockets connections. So they run across TCP, even though not using the internet at that point. If you're ZoneAlarm settings have blocked that from happening, then the manager can't get the status from the client. In ZoneAlarm desktop, click "Program Control" on the left hand side, then click the "Programs" tab, and check the settings for both the BOINC Manager and BOINC client. Add this signature to your EMail: Running Microsoft's "System Idle Process" will never help cure cancer, AIDS nor Alzheimer's. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |

Nope, not using ZoneAlarm. Would some other program act this way? Are you using ZoneAlarm? Did you allow the client to run as a server?
