Just an old guy who builds his own computers donating spare time to Rosetta and Folding.
First computer was a self design wire wrap 8085 with 64K RAM running CPM in 1977.
My new hobby requires editing and producing 4k video so I needed a new CPU and Motherboard. My other AMD systems are still running.

Good project. I like supporting cancer research when I am not using the systems to product 4k video or design hardware and write firmware.
I run Rosetta on the CPU and Folding on the ATI GPU. This gives me 100% utilization of the core components. My primary system is an AMD 1100T @ 3.6GHz with a Radeon 5870. My other system is an AMD 965 @ 3.8GHz with a Radeon 4870. I have been experimenting with an AMD A6 processor to see what it can do.
My UPS says the systems consume about 500W when running at 100%. I have solar power so the donated time is still green. |
