Your personal background.
I became interested in rosetta@home as a way of using spare computer capacity to fight covid-19. It is a way of doing something about the problem without having to work too hard. I did do an MSc. in knowledge-based systems many years ago, so I am interested in search algorithms. It is interesting that this Monte Carlo tree method seems to be effective.

I am running r@h on my quad processor laptop and on my smartphone. I have tried to get it to work on my old desktop computer. The problem at the moment is lack of memory. I've ordered some more - it was not too expensive and I hope it does the job. Otherwise I'll have to pare down how much is used by the desktop environment, etc.

Apart from running rosetta@home, I do suggest people grow more veg if they can this year, because the food supply chain is uncertain in so many ways. If you find you have time on your hands you can also have a go at making a scrub suit or other essential items.

I live in rural Scotland.
Your opinions about Rosetta@home
I'm interested in the algorithm you are using. I have - many years ago now - messed around with genetic algorithms. Have you considered these?
