Posted 10 Jul 2008 by phicksus Post: Thanks for the staff here for restoring the Teddie team. Also thanks to those that are translating posts. I think Barbar & company should be banned from crunching. Their tactics have tainted everything they touch. And don't want to see this happen to others. I think too many teams have already been taken across various projects. 99% of the folks that are crunching are good folks and are here for a reason. Really have never seen anything like this happen before. Actually is quite sad especially when those that are guilty still see no wrong in their actions. |

Posted 8 Jul 2008 by phicksus Post: This is a difficult situation. The original founder did not respond to the request for a founder change within the 2 month period so what can we do that is fair for all? You may have to diplomatically request for another founder change. I personally don't think it is good for BOINC to allow a switch as what happened here, even with a long wait period, without a response but then what do you do with inactive teams? Why not just ask the team founder to switch back to Teddies and then we can see what options are available to resolve this issue. This was not a case of one of us wanting to take over the team in the event of an absent Capt. Someone else came in stole & claimed what they didn't earn to begin with. Certainly isn't fair to allow a thief to come in and take what they wish. Is it fair to all the teams behind Space Family in the stats? They got their position on the backside of the Teddies not through efforts of their own. |

Posted 8 Jul 2008 by phicksus Post: There is another thing I am curious about here. All of the folks posting about this show a team of "none". If the team they were members of were renamed, wouldn't the individuals still be members of that team? So I am just wondering if any of you can comment on whether or not you left the team. I didn't leave the Teddies either. |

Newly built 5.4.10 optimized windows boinc client

Not using the optimized version at the present but have in the past. Morphy is entitled to his opinion as anyone else is. My stamp of approval isn't necessary. Sometimes it is best to agree to disagree and leave it at that. :) |

Removal of posts containing offensive language
(Message 9947)
Posted 26 Jan 2006 by phicksus Post: Being one of the minority females I guess I should speak up. If I'm offended you will hear about it. Using the term mixed company didn't bother me. Mods at this site or any other don't owe me an explanation for their actions. Like Scribe said if they are wrong they will be replaced. I am more offended by the treatment of some of the ex-Fad folks than I am by terms or language. |

No I've been there for several months. The size isn't really an issue for me but I don't have 30 machines trying to connect either. |

Recently I decided to divide my time between Rosetta@home & WCG. I don't think Carl or any of the others on his team are high maintenance. They care very much about the project. They only want to see improvements and see more folks come here. Puzzled as to why some feel thats wrong or they should shut up and go away. :( |
