Posted 30 Sep 2021 by ![]() Post: Hows that working out for you? It is working just as it did on Windows 10. I recently built my Aorus Z590 Pro AX with Intel i9-10850 and 32GB RAM because my previous computer would not run Windows 11 due to Intel Platform Trust Technology (Intel PTT). Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0. Here's some information to help one know the status of their computer. TPM is going to sell lots of computers for those wanting Windows 11. I like Windows 11. It appears that all features were reviewed and coordinated by Human Engineers for function and appearance. |

Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10850K CPU...CPU stats show more average cores than cores available
(Message 102851)
Posted 29 Sep 2021 by ![]() Post: From the CPU Performance table: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60GHz [Family 6 Model 165 Stepping 5] 39 (computers) 20.82 (ave. cores/computer) 5.61 (GFLOPS/core) 116.81 (GFLOPS/computer) The CPU in question has ten cores which can be hyperthreaded for a total core count of 20. I would not expect to see an average greater than 20. |

Posted 9 Jan 2013 by ![]() Post: Failure. I've run distributed computing projects for eleven years and this is the longest-running bug I've seen (worse that United Devices). I ran MemTest86 version 4.20 for over three hours tonight without a problem on my AMD FX-8150. If it makes anyone feel better, BOINC 7.0.42 errors out on WCG also. Memory test As mentioned in the sticky, this problem has persisted since about last October without resolution, and I just saw another topic opened regarding errors. I did beta testing at UD, Find-a-Drug, and Folding@home. There doesn't seem to be anyone here actively working on this problem. This computer has run Rosetta@Home without errors on Linux Mint 14 and Windows 7. The Intel i7 I mentioned before is running Windows 7 and all of the jobs run on it have ended with "client error." |

Posted 6 Jan 2013 by ![]() Post: It has 10 GB of RAM because HP built it that way. This computer ran just fine without any errors until I installed BOINC 7.0.28 with Windows 8. I am going to try another project and see if I still have a problem. As it is, BOINC Manager will not reconnect to the client after a restart and if I do a dirty installation, it starts computing and then renders my computer unresponsive until I exit BOINC Manager. |

Posted 5 Jan 2013 by ![]() Post: With Windows 7 the AMD FX-8150 was stable at 4.3 GHz, but it is not overclocked since I did a clean installation of Windows 8 a few days ago. It now idles at 3.6 GHz and runs at 3.9 GHz loaded. I downloaded and installed BOINC 7.0.28 and started having errors at stock speeds. I then uninstalled and looked for any remaining files before getting another download and installing again. I will try again since there is not a bug involved. This computer, an HP Pavilion h9-1135 Phoenix water-cooled, was in the top 100 at one time. Each core isn't as good as the Intel i7, but there ARE 8 of them. I have 10 GB of PC3-10600 MB/sec DDR3 1333 RAM and could benefit from a memory upgrade (DDR3-1600). It runs loaded at 48 degrees C. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

Posted 5 Jan 2013 by ![]() Post: I am having trouble on two Intel quads and an AMD eight core, but two dual core Intels are still running without errors. I will re-install on the eight core after the problem has been sorted. If it fixes the problem, then I will consider driving three hours to fix my daughter's computer. (I told her at Christmas that Rosetta would be no problem if she would let me run it, and I don't want to tell her about these errors.) |
