This one was unusual short with following output:

DONE :: 1 starting structures built 30 (nstruct) times
This process generated 0 decoys from 0 attempts

Maybe this one has to be added to the list:

There is a discrepancy in claimed and granted credit.

The same illogical behaviour here too using BOINC 5.4.9.
It only switches between overcommitted / EDF mode and fetching no work for days.

Hi everyone,

i just upgraded from BOINC 4.19 (which wasn't able to handle Rosetta) to BOINC 5.4.9 which is again able to handle Rosetta. I only want to express my impression of the Rosetta client, which is very informative and entertaining while crunching. I did quit very long time ago, cause i was pi**ed off by the requirement of a higher BOINC version, which was - at that time - at least unpleasant ;) Things have changed and BOINC 5.4.9 is not as bad as i expected and here i am again! :D

Well I quit crunching & detatched Rosetta, I'm wasting CPU time, all I get is errors. I will check back time to time!
Same here: Nothing but errors... Just changed the resource share for Predictor instead :/

@Ulrich
It's too late now, but you should have uninstalled 4.19 (or older) client and then installed the 5.2 client. You wouldn't have lost any WU's then :(

Thanks, but that's exactly, what i did. The installer already told me to first uninstall the old version :/
BTW: Nothing is really lost. I made a backup first ( It's not the first time this happens to me ;) ) and after i uninstalled 5.2.2, i copied back the old content. What's more annoying is: It already fetched a new CPDN wu, which i now trashed...

Ok, the problem is not limited on AMD Athlons. Just got the same on a 1.8 GHz P4 Willamette CPU:

If nothing is been done on this, i'll detach for a while, cause this is simply a waste of bandwidth :/

Have not had any errors of the type mentioned, using BOINC 5.2.2 the units lately have been 4.78, windows boxs AMD and Intel processors. I do keep processs in memory. Note has been problem mentioned in many threads concerning not keeping rosetta in memory.

I presume, you are talking about Athlon XP's? Because the Athon XP has SSE instructions. The older Athlon Thunderbirds don't have SSE instructions. That's my point...

Just for a little reality check, Einstein@Home started out that way too. So did LHC@Home. There are times now when they do not seem to pay much attention.

Ok, here i have to intervene a little bit. Maybe you simply ousted the problems they had? For Einstein i can nearly fully agree to what you're writing, since the only bug i know of, was this nasty Windows upper-/lowercase scenario, where files got mixed up, but clearly not for LHC. There we had exactly the same tedious fortran bugs as in Predictor, where you had that nasty dialog box stating some kind of fortran error xyz0815 and you had to click OK to abort that BS-workunit and get BOINC working again. That really p*ssed me off that time, since coming back from work looking at this box only to recognize it opened 5 minutes after you left your flat... :((
Never had anything nearly similiar to that at Rosetta and hope to never have ;)
The only thing people might get mad at is the really high memory consumption in comparision to other projects, but that doesn't matter me. Memory is the first thing, even before the cpu, i consider in building a new system...

Hello to everyone and especially the project developers / admins.

The folks, that recognize me from other projects, know very well, i'm for sure no cheerleader at all, but for this project i must say: Very well done! Direct from the start this project runs exceptionally well for me. Up- and downloading goes very smooth and credits are awarded almost instantly. Also the developers actually read the posts and questions people are carrying to this forum and respond in a nice way. All in all this project is outstanding at the moment and i hope that this very high standard will continue in the future.

Very kind regards to everyone, who made this possible!

... anyway, the contribution is so insignificant that I would rather just let it die like the project did ... quietly ...

As long as it is greater than zero it definitely is a contribution and is therefore meaningful. I take my (and your) contribution to Pirates as a meaningful contribution to develop Einstein to what it is right now, so you should do also :)

Hey Paul, why would you like to do that?
Instead you should be proud to be among the 'chosen' that were lucky to get a WU from Pirates! It was great over there as long as it lasted, i had tons of fun!
Arrrgghh! :)

Just noticed, the crossproject id is not the same as in other projects. Is this intended? Some time ago CPDN also had another crossproject id compared to the other projects but has now corrected the display.
