I had a thought about this same subject today. I know that sone corporations like to donate/give resources to good causes that fit there corporate agenda. Take a company like Target. They have gift registry computers that are connected to the internet. Most of the time these computers are just burning electricity. I wonder if there is a company like Target or maby Target its self that would use computers of this nature to compute Rosetta. The only obsticle is that the coporate philosophy matches with what Rosetta has to offer.

Just a thought. Maby I will send some emails out to test the waters.

Seems to be a problem with running a Poweredge 6450 and Centos 4.2. Two of the four process stopped at about 63 percent. I know this is vintage hardware, but I have another Poweredge running Windows 2003 RC2 and it runs fine.

Maybe an OS switch is in order?

I had to abort two process because they were stuck and way overtime. I believe they were due on Janurary 18th. I can't view WU back that far.

Hell yes, some of us speak English. Ciao dude :D

PS. My wife speeks Italian and she has never heard some of those words before!

Welcome to Rosetta, there are many languages used here. Mostly in the team message boards.

Benevenuto a Rosetta, qui ce sono tutti persone chi non parla solomente inglese.

Ice storm? WOW.. nice..

I love driving on ice..

Maybe I should stop by and get some jack and coke. Anytime I run out of ice, I can just open the car door and scoop some up. :-)

(I don't drink.. and especially drink and drive for anyone with no since of bad humor!)

You should never drink and drive, you might spill some.

I have looked at my computers again -

Poweredge 6450 Linux CentOs 4.2 Claimed 62, Granted 109
Tyan dual Athlon MP 2000+ Win2K Claimed 207, Granted 124

I know there is a processor parity issue between the two, but the granted/claimed should be closer?

The graph on the tyan looks like this "_"

I have a combination of old and new computers running Rosetta full time. I have noticed that all computers have had a steady decline that began in early December. The 1.8ghz Duo Core was running about 400 credits, and now it runs about 338 credits. The Tyan dual Athlon MP 2000+ was running near the high 300's and now it is running in the low 200's. I have two quad Poweredge (700 & 900mhz) that have been least affected of the 10 or so computers I run for Rosetta.

Poweredge 6450, Xeon 4 x 700mhz, 4 gig PC133 Reg, 10K 18 gig hd perc 3 raid 5.
Poweredge 6450, Xeon 4 x 900mhz, 2 gig PC133 Reg, 10K 18 gig hd SCSI.
Tyan S2462, 2 x Athlon MP 2000+, 2 gig PC2100 Reg, 320 gig IDE. (7 cooling fans)
Tyan S2510, 2 x PIII 1 ghz, PC133 1 gig PC133 Reg, 10K 9 gig hd perc 3 raid 0.
HP Kayak, 2 x PIII 800mhz, PC800 512meg, 20 gig IDE.
Asus K7XX, Sempron 3000+, PC2700 1.2 gig, 250 gig IDE.
Dell 2400, Pentium 4, 2.53 ghz, PC2700 1.5 gig. 60 gig IDE.
Dell D810, Pentium M, 1.8 ghz, 2 gig ram, 60 gig IDE.
Dell D820, T2500 Core Duo, 1.8 ghz, 2 gig ram, 60 gig sata.
Abit K7AN, Athlon 2000+ , 1.88 ghz, PC2700 512meg, 60 gig IDE.

I thought the VNC network I set up was the problem until I read this thread.
