1) Message boards : Cafe Rosetta : Obama's challenge (Message 59600)

Ah only if this dream could be reached. But alas it can not. No matter which side of the political spectrum they are from they are politicians. President Obama is no differnt than any of his predicesors.
It is laughable to believe Obama will drop programs at all. Just take this 1 example the national helium reserve. Yes I said helium, this bill/project was started not sur eof the exact year. So was either just before WW2 or just after WW2 in 1946.
My point is with the advent of aircraft that coudl fly above 20000 feet the barage ballon became out dated in the early 50s. Even tho the date was much earlier they still manufactured them past the Korean conflict. So again the point is for 45+ years after the military requirement for helium ended they continued resupplying the National helium reserve.
This cost a at the last year somewher ein the area of 600 million US dollars.
Why did it continue as a US government program? Easy it was the pork that is paid off to some legislature constituants.
Remember most US programs gives somebody free Dollars and they wwill scream to high heavans if you try to cut it off.

As to Gameing i run 2 WUs my Music in the background and 2 Clients of EVE-online. I get no errors so far and no lag on the game. As to running the machines 24-7 if you are worried about the polution factor use Compact florescents where ytou can in your house. I prefer the the true Sunlight bulbs to the others but 23 watts instead of 100 is a big saveings per bulb.

humm i know this is going to sound some what of a wise remark but have you considered useing a small water wheel to drive a Archamiedes Screw to drive the water up to your pond? After all the ancient greeks did this like 2000 years ago? You wouldnt need a large water wheel at all to drive the Screw and you were already mentioning needing ot put a screen and Rigging to protect the intakes

19) Message boards : Number crunching : How much has your RAC Dropped Since 12/6/06 (Message 33819)
Posted 31 Dec 2006 by Charlie
Post:
Humm i just looked at my RAC also i used to get mid 40s for my granted. Now my machine still says mid 40s for requested but the granted is between 28 to 35 tops that tends to be more than 10 % drop for the last 3 weeks. So I think Stevea truey is onto something. My machine runs 24/7 tho there was 5 days near the begining of the month i had it off. And i do game during the day withthis machine but still I have not t changed anything i been doing for over 6 months.
