Thanks for your quick answer, Mod. Sense !

I must admit that I didn't know (or had forgotten... same result !) about this particular aspect of developping the rosetta app.
Sorry about that !

So let them just not forget to put some explanation when it eventually (one day) comes to a specific disease.

Thanks again.

Hello !

Well... looks like this has been a little forgotten lately...
Since the appearance of the "beta" app, in fact.
No doubt scientists and informaticians are putting their best efforts in making an excellent science application.

But PLEASE do not forget "simple" crunchers (like me) who'd very much like to know why and for what they actually are crunching !

Just let us now if it's for Alzheimer, cancer or whatever else.
Not something like "ab initio followed by full-atom refinement"... I think we nearly all know this (if not, just read the "graphics explanation" section).
Or worse...... nothing at all !

Thanks in advance.

Hello !

I'd just like to make a suggestion concerning the workunit's graphics.
Some of them contain a text, explaining what the workunit is actually doing (e.g. "a low resolution search followed by a full atom refinement").
I think it would be great if every workunit could contain this text within the graphics, and it would be even greater if the text could mention about the science it's working on (HIV, Alzheimer, ...)

Thank you.

Hello !

While we're speaking over "what happens after CASP7" : when is CASP7 due to stop ?
Because I'm now actually only crunching for rosetta@home (part of the CASP7 effort !) and I'd like to know when I shall be able to crunch for other projects again ?

Thank you.

I've got this message for an error with rosetta 5.25 :

3/07/2006 21:52:07|rosetta@home|Unrecoverable error for result FRA_t329_CASP7_hom001_6_t329_6_2ah5A_IGNORE_THE_REST_814_858_3_0 (<file_xfer_error> <file_name>FRA_t329_CASP7_hom001_6_t329_6_2ah5A_IGNORE_THE_REST_814_858_3_0_0</file_name> <error_code>-161</error_code></file_xfer_error>)

If it can help the techs .... there it is !

I don't know if the problem comes from the application or from the workunit.

Hoping to help the project.

Hello!
I've got a problem with the graphics of the rosetta application.
Each time I let the graphics' window open more than a minute or so, the graphics stop and my screen go black.
Then the screen reopens again and I have to quickly close the graphics' window or it continues all the time.
Any idea of what might cause this "crash"?

Thank you.
Duanra

PS: my PC is a 1.73 GHz Intel Centrino with 1 Gb RAM, Windows XP SP2 and an ATI Mobility Radeon Graphics Card

Hello !
Using Rosetta@home v. 5.07, windows XP ant ATI Mobility Radeon Graphics card ; each time I open the rosetta screensaver to look at the graphics, it stops after a couple of minutes, my screen becomes black then it reopens again and I've got to close quickly the window of the screensaver or it continues all the time.
Conclusion : I cannot see the graphics without my screen crashing down.

(sorry for my poor English)

8) Questions and Answers : Windows : Full atom relax (Message 11860)

Hello !!

Rosetta@Home's graphics show me that my computer is sometimes running at "full atom relax".
I'd just like to know if this is something "normal", seeing that I bought my computer quite recently (it's a 3.0 GHz with 1024 MB).

Thank you in advance.
