I did not read all, but as far as i know is it that what we are doing here. We try to find receptor-binding which prevent the virus from docking on human body cells.

Strange things happen. I run on my machine 6 WU at the same time (its too hot here to run more). 24hrs runtime, to reduce the overhead for loading+unloading of the WU and the internet traffic. Seems the deadline is now 3 days.
To get all WU finished on time should i get 12 WU max. But i got 64! What a waste of internet traffic/load at your servers and what a waste of WU if they would stuck in my machine.

According to the Server Status page, R@H is basically out of WU to send. Over 1.4 MILLION WUs out in the wild being crunched. I don't recall a time when there were so many WUs distributed out in this project.

Indeed!
On one side im so happy to see so much people joined, fighting togehter in the biggest war in the human history.
On the other side, Im very sad that we are joined for that reason.

It seems with the calculation of the amount of workunits is someting really wrong.
My default runtime is set to 24 hours. So, Rosetta runs each WU for 24 hours. That works very well. But: Boinc is still to dumb to realize that.
The calculated runtime for new WU's is always around 4 hours. So, i receive tooo much WU's which i have to cancel all the time. Otherwise crunch i only WU's which are ready after deadline ends.
I have no other project running.
Interesting is, i crunch 6 WU's at the same time (6 of 8 CPU cores), 4 hours sets Boinc as runtime for new WU's -> 6*4 = 24
On my other PC is it 4 WU's at the same time and Boinc sets 6 hours for new WU's.
Both Windows, differend Boinc versions. Android is still woking fine.

Hello,
i had an error while subscribing with a new computer but I got these errors...

07/10/2016 08.20.08 | rosetta@home | Started download of minirosetta_database_d0bf94b.zip
07/10/2016 08.20.31 | rosetta@home | Temporarily failed download of minirosetta_database_d0bf94b.zip: connect() failed
07/10/2016 08.20.32 | rosetta@home | Started download of minirosetta_database_d0bf94b.zip
07/10/2016 08.20.35 | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
07/10/2016 08.20.36 | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

That can happen. It is not really a problem. Boinc will try it later again.

Seems like someone could write a script that runs "hourly" to automatically detect errors and publish that to the list of scientists ... or is that what already happens? 8-)

I had it mentioned some weeks ago, they are lazy. However, we are not lazy, we press the refresh button in the Boinc Manager until we get some work!
They are also not more able to publish some information about active workunits or results or still server problems.

It is not our problem that srv1 is not responding. And it is not on us to implement a solution for that. Even more, if the solution is so damn stupid. 99% of the users will forget that they have made this change an will later have another problems only caused by this solution!

I think it is much better to change the server redirection at your side. Then can you spend all time you need to find out what is wrong. Especially since the weekend is at the doorstep.

..., we're all on the same team here man :)

No! That is wrong, they need us, we don't.
They get money for the job. I spend money, for hardware and for power. I spend my spare time for maintenance of my systems to keep them always crunching.
Later, in an hopefully no so far future, if the first results come to the market, pay i again to get the medicine or whatever.

All what i get is useless credits, and the hope that i spend my money and time not in weapons.

And all what they do in this case is "you should change you hosts file"!!
There is no information at the Website, so that everyone can find out that there is a problem. There is not really a useful workaround wich works for everyone.

And again: replace of srv1 in client_state.xml and client_state_prev.xml is no solution. restart of boinc and the previous srv1.. is back.

Change of hosts.txt is a stupid idea! There should be another way.
Replace of "srv1.bakerlab.org" in client_state.xml is useless. Whenever i restart the boinc manager is it again there. I can't find from where boinc restore this.
i have it also replace in client_state_prev.xml.

Thanks your lazy guys have i now two WU's lost! 24 hours of work for nothing.

Servers are almost offline. Hope your guys find out what's wrong.
Had got a lot of WU's with only two days turnaround time which are due on Jun 24. I'm happy that they have found a way to go back to your servers prior the downtime.

There are no changes at my side. No new Boinc version, etc.
I think they have made something wrong at the past server downtime. Maybe some checking which kind of tasks can be send to a certain client.

My computers list at my profile shows the right information about my machines.

The blue background is stupid and I do not like it at all.

Please, use other terms.

I will use whatever terms I desire to use.

Fine if you then let everyone else use those same terms to describe you.

I am sure, stupid is not the right description. But, for whatever reason was it necessary to change to blue?
Screensaver background should be as dark as possible. There is no way to say, this wtfs blue is dark enough. Only black is it!

Please change back to black or give us an option to change it by ourself.

Credit for tasks that have errors is granted via a nightly script and, for whatever reason, is not shown on the task summary web page, only the task details.

Oh, good to know! Thanks.

Target runtimes of 2 days have been deprecated for a while, to avoid issues I suggest moving your target runtime down to 1 day or less, this will provide enough buffer space between any hard limits like the one your WU hit.

No, i will not move. I have a weak and unstable internet connection. I do not waste internet traffic with a shorter runtime and disk space as well.

This bug is based on Boinc, not on the server bug that we had before. It seems that it need only a change in the parameters for a WU. I had before the same bug with *Krypton* WUs, since a change at server side there is no bug more.
By the way, two days gives a high chance of getting 99 results per WU. And, wasting less crunching time for finalization of one WU and starting another.
