21) Message boards : Number crunching : Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high (Message 68641) Posted 16 Nov 2010 by [AF>france>pas-de-calais]symaski62 Post: Fold.it is a great example of an application that often consumes more then 25% of CPU while it runs :) So, while it is fun to play and learn with, it uses a lot of CPU. But if you didn't have the game installed yet, then you should really find out what was using more then 25% of the CPU. The idea is that BOINC should, as quietly as possible, just run in the background and not interfere with your usage of your machine. This 25% threshold is one way in which BOINC tries to achieve that.
