Posted 1 May 2020 by Plomos Post: Thanks Grant, I thought that might have been the issue. I went ahead and cut the cores used back by half just to be sure. Also set work buffers at Minimum 0.20 day(s) and additional buffer at 0.02 because I am seeing that it thinks it will take 23 hrs to finish a task. I know the watchdog won't let it go that long, but this is a brand new system so it is trying to sort itself |

Ok I just wasn't sure because those units say Stage: unknown for most of the time that they crunch. Good to know it isn't an issue |

Posted 25 Apr 2020 by Plomos Post: Am noticing with tasks marked as Mini_Protein_binds_IL6R_COVID-19_1p9m_v2_3_SAVE_ALL_OUT_IGNORE_THE_REST_6vq3dw3t_924614_2 do end up creating decoys, but according to the windows graphics output they spend a lot of time with Stage: unknown and then eventually run 2 or 3 steps before going to the next model. Is this normal behavior? Have seen this with quite a few of the Mini_Protein_binds units. Example https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=1159847678 |

Posted 7 Apr 2020 by Plomos Post: I have had several 4.12 WUs that have completed just fine and earned plenty of credits such as https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=1142060959 but two of them that just finished https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=1142041210 and https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=1142041257 only ran 1 decoy in 8 hours which seems to be a problem with the 32bit version of the app. I am running a 64bit OS so I would hope that all the tasks that are pulled to my machine are 64bit but this does not seem to be the case |

Problems and Technical Issues with Rosetta@home
(Message 92799)
Posted 31 Mar 2020 by Plomos Post: So I'm running on Fedora 31 Boinc 7.16.1 and rosetta tasks do not have the option to view the graphics to be able to see how many decoys a unit is running. I have 12GB of Ram and a core i5 8250U cpu but only use 4 cores because of heating issues, so there should be plenty of RAM to go around for the graphics of the screensaver but it does not show as an option I can click on and is only greyed out. Anyone know why it is not available? |

Rosetta's role in fighting coronavirus

Posted 25 Mar 2020 by Plomos Post: I am one of those people who doesn't have a lot of power to give, but what I can give I will to run as many units through as possible. It's also the only project I'm running aside from Wuprop to maintain a focus on this important work. Thank you for allowing us to positively contribute towards this solution |

CASP 10
(Message 72973)
Posted 2 May 2012 by Plomos Post: Can I ask why WU's that seem to be for something other than CASP are being run? I am seeing names like heterodimer_design_21_pose_B_abinitio_SAVE_ALL_OUT_46202_4097_0 and ab_11_29__optpps_T5611_optpps_03_09_35686_255345_0 in addition to the CASP9 benchmark and rb WUs. Are all of these being used for CASP? If not then which are and why are other things being sent out? |

Rosetta@Home version 3.30
(Message 72943)
Posted 30 Apr 2012 by Plomos Post: It seems that the new version of rosetta runs the WUs slower. (or maybe its just me) I've noticed that when running rb_04_29 WUs that the steps per model seem to move much slower. Is this because they are CASP units or because of the new 3.30 version? |
