9 stuck uploads. BOINC no longer receiving tasks from Rosetta.

Like me, many people here are probably concerned about the amount of power they use and its contribution toward climate change. I just recently found a new power company, Arcadia Power, which has allowed me to switch over to 100% renewable energy (indirectly). You would still be receiving the same electricity from your local power company, but Arcadia matches your usage with investment in wind farms and solar, the idea being that you would essentially be "carbon-neutral" in your electricity usage.

If you're interested in checking it out, here's a link that will save you some money on your first bill from Arcadia.

3) Message boards : Number crunching : Zero Resource Share (Message 79487)

Right, the server code is from before BOINC supported zero as a backup project. So one is as close as you can get.

Alright. Thanks for letting me know.

I'd like to use Rosetta@Home as a backup project, meaning I would receive work for it when my main projects have none available. I usually do this by setting the resource share of a backup project to zero so that it only requests work when none is available for any of my projects with a non-zero resource share setting. However, when I enter zero as the resource share on my preferences page, it resets itself at 100. I can't seem to set it any lower than 1. Has anyone else observed this?
5) Message boards : Number crunching : which cpu´s are you using for rosetta? (Message 78287)

i7-4790k @ 4400MHz on all cores. HT enabled. Just came back to Rosetta after a long time away. I'd like to be crunching more, but it's summer here and heat is an issue. It usually runs between 25C and 32C ambient in the room where my PC is kept so I am using TThrottle to limit my crunching with a set CPU temp.
6) Message boards : Number crunching : 4GB RAM enough to support 8 jobs?? (Message 78260)

Very nice. I've been wanting to make my crunching efforts more energy efficient as well. Right now I have the Desktop i7+GPU and I have an Android Smartphone running BOINC. I'd like to find a happy medium in there somewhere which will do a lot of work but will not use a lot of power.

Good luck with your collection!

You could take some of the savings from that sale price and upgrade the RAM. You should be able to buy 8GB of good quality memory for US$60 or less.

does this open the way for a hybrid CPU/GPU app?

Mmmm, i don't know.
The admins say that the principal problem of rosetta gpu wu is a memory problem of gpu card...
By the way, if the problem is memory, why not use AMD APU?? Gpu and cpu use same memory!

How much memory is required? My GPU has 2 gigs of memory. Most modern cards have at least 1 GB.
