An update: SETI@home works fine in screensaver. Rosetta does not, unfortunately.

I tried a few things to get it going. See the BOINC message board thread here:

Well, ok, SETI doesn't work perfectly either. When I throttle back on the CPUs, the screen saver only shows the logo, then it flashes the graphic for a second, then the logo, then the graphic.

The little graphics modules and the screensaver are not playing nice.

Hi all,

I have just downloaded the latest rosetta install, and have it up and running. I have been through all of the instructions, but when in screensaver mode, there are no cool graphics!

All there is is that BOINC logo bouncing around, saying either "Connecting to application" or "Starting screensaver graphics, please wait...." But, no matter how long I wait, no cool graphics.

I have searched the forum, found some ideas about reducing the cpu overhead, etc. No dice. I know it is working, as the manager is reporting that I am going through some work files, their completion is rising, and my cpu is being used rather intensively (as per my settings) for the work.

I want those graphics! Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Jim
