It will not use full CPU time- only ~15%. Have it set at 99% and it usually does that. 8 tasks are "running" however only 1 actually has progress % increasing. So obviously it's only really running one core. I also just upgraded BIONIC to 7.4.36. The tasks no longer show up in the task manager> Processes. No process is > 1% CPU. RAM is OK, 4/6 GB. WIN7-64, I7-940.

update. I tried World Community Grid tasks and they run to about 1.1% complete and then they reset to 0% complete and 0 time elapsed. This time it is actually using 100% CPU on 8 WCG tasks. Apparently it's not useful work if they keep restarting. So it's definitely a Bionic issue.

Been running 24/7 for years...shutting it down.

I posted this on the Bionic forum too.

3) Questions and Answers : Wish list : Need to stop downloading of new WUs before vacation (Message 68996)

Post:
I went on vacation for 2 weeks and turned my machine off. Upon return, I aborted 5 overdue WUs that had 8+ hours of computation on them.

There should be a vacation/ hibernation function to finish the current WUs without downloading new ones. I suggest a check box "do not download new work" in the Bionic preferences network tab.

I haven't been able to upload or download all day. Servers are all green but now
"TeraFLOPS estimate: 0.642"
That's not good. Hope they figure it out.

Well, like everyone else I had some down time Friday when the server couldn't feed my machines. I thought I'd be smart and increase the desired work time and additional work queue both to 24 hours. That should give them more time to fix another server crash without downtime. Makes sense?

BUT one of my 24 hour WUs gave a validate error so it was a waste. I never saw this before. Did anybody else have validate errors since Friday? I was also messing with overclocking this machine yesterday. I believe it's rock solid now and other WUs were fine. Is a validate error always a server problem or could it be client side?
6) Questions and Answers : Preferences : bigger WorkUnits? (Message 67007)

Thanks. I was assuming it would be under BIONIC settings. The user should be able to set all computing preferences like this directly through the BIONIC client. Everything else is available there. It's not logical from a user perspective. I hope this capability is added to a future BIONIC update.

I've seen this answer in the FAQ as well but I don't understand. I do not see any setting like "target workunit processing time" anywhere. Please give explicit directions.

The problem is that for the gpu cards there is not currently a disease curing project yet.

Well, maybe not on BONIC but there is Folding at Home. I'm running Rosetta on CPUs and FAH on GPUs.
