Running Boinc 4.45. Only see 4.45 and 4.19 for download....

I'm running CC4.72 (which seems to be operating just fine - since I learned to leave it alone [grin])

What will 5.2.x give me, aside from not being able to connect to LHC?

Rosetta still hasn't shown up in my sig. and I have been crunching for a while. The email address is correct and so is the cross project ID.



mundayweb.com had added rosetta@home to his sigs. Maybe you need to jiggle the elbow of the admin at BoincStats

this is definately strange, but i think boinc devs have little impact there. seems like windows is messing something up there. will try to recreate the situation here, have master of orion 3 at home. windows should count the time the process actually got, not the time that past by in real world.
what windows version do you see this with?


Win98 SE and WinXP Home Edition SP2. On both systems, BOINC seems to count elapsed time when a high CPU intensive game is run. I've had similar happen with high CPU intensive graphics programs as well but not to the extent that games have.


The CPU Clock continuing to run while the Science App is left in memory is a Known Problem. The only workaround that I know of is to set Boinc to NOT leave the application in memory when swapping apps. You can set up a different venue for your Win9x machine(s) and let the default stay at remove for W2000/XP etc.

I think Rebirther was referring to CC4.45 or 4.72, not the Rosetta application 4.75. CC4.72 has a nice little feature that improves the estimated time to completion each time you send in a WU. I'm still on my first WU (83% in 8 hours), but the initial estimate was 350h... so after I send in my first WU, the estimate should drop to less than 200 hours (it takes several WUs to bring down the estiamtion time).

I'd tell you where to d/l it, but it seems to have been taken off the developers d/l list, so I don't know where it is anymore.... sorry!

Be sure that you grab the right platform as well as the right version. CC4.72 seems to be running very well for me, Estimated Completion Time is 215 Hrs for a P4/1.4 (But it shows 50% complete after 4 Hrs
